Football Recap: Swainsboro Tigers vs. Northeast Raiders
Swainsboro and Northeast squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Swainsboro had to settle for second. They took a 26-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The Tigers lost against the Raiders in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 46-7 score last time.
Although Swainsboro took the loss, they still got scores from Kyle Johnson and Shannon Benjamin.
Reginald 'Bam' Glover went supernova For Northeast., throwing for 259 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 81 yards on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards Glover has posted since back in December of 2024. Tavares Tinsley Jr was another key player, picking up 91 receiving yards and one TD.
Swainsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Northeast, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.
Swainsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast, they are taking a road trip to face off against Toombs County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Raiders 8.1, the Bulldogs 14) so any points scored will be well earned.
