Football Game Preview: Lake County Panthers vs. Vail Christian Saints

Lake County is 0-3 against Vail Christian since September of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Panthers will host the Saints at 1:00 p.m. Lake County will be strutting in after a win while Vail Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Lake County needed a bit of extra time to put away Soroco. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-28 victory over the Rams. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

One reason for the win was Lake County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Victor Galarza and Brendan Sandoval, who racked up all five sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Vail Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 72-28 loss at the hands of Hayden. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-22.

Lake County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Vail Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
