Basketball Game Preview: Lake Region Rangers vs. Harwood Highlanders

The Lake Region Rangers will face off against the Harwood Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lake Region has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Harwood will arrive with three straight victories.

Last Friday, Lake Region didn't have quite enough to beat Lyndon Institute and fell 43-41.

Meanwhile, Harwood faced Lamoille in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Harwood walked away with a 59-51 win over Lamoille.

Harwood pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Lake Region, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Lake Region was dealt a bruising 58-26 loss at the hands of Harwood in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Lake Region avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
