Softball Game Preview: Parkland Mustangs vs. North Forsyth Vikings

The Parkland Mustangs will head out to square off against the North Forsyth Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkland will be strutting in after a win while North Forsyth will be coming in after a defeat.

Parkland will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against T.W. Andrews on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Red Raiders. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, North Forsyth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Morehead, falling 16-0.

Parkland's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for North Forsyth, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Parkland came out on top in a nail-biter against North Forsyth in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, sneaking past 17-16. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
