Volleyball Game Preview: Thunder Ridge Titans vs. Rigby Trojans

The Thunder Ridge Titans will head out on the road to take on the Rigby Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thunder Ridge will be strutting in after a victory while Rigby will be coming in after a defeat.

Thunder Ridge not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Canyon Ridge. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Rigby faced Madison in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered since September 18th.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19, 25-18.

Thunder Ridge will have to keep a close watch on Breleigh Youngstrom and Lily Stewart, a pair of players who had a big impact on Rigby's prior game. Youngstrom had 16 digs, while Stewart had eight digs and five kills. Youngstrom has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 16 times she's played.

The defeat snapped Rigby's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 29-7 record. As for Thunder Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 14-15.

Thunder Ridge might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Rigby when the teams last played back in September. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
