Volleyball Recap: Valley Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Northridge Grizzlies by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19.

Camila Villanueva paced Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Villanueva got some help from Jade Nevarez and her 13 assists. Nevarez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kierra Weese, racking up two apiece.

Valley will take on Simla in a tournament on Saturday. As for Northridge, they will host Skyline at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
