League recap: First Baptist Academy tops Community School of Naples to extend winning streak

First Baptist Academy extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 6 this week by beating Community School of Naples, 31-19. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.

Neumann took down Evangelical Christian 47-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.

St. Stephen's Episcopal's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sam Dages threw for 108 and one touchdown and Cam Tally had 72 yards receiving. On the ground Herman Israelsson chipped in 262 yards. Peter Smith helped St. Stephen's Episcopal's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.

On the ground, the Falcons' Israelsson has rushed for 1377 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ryan O?rourke. The Neumann star has 21 catches for 505 yards.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Seahawks and Southwest Florida Christian face off next week. Whit Wiggins has dominated opposing QBs with a total of seven sacks, while Drew Tomaini has 1477 passing yards and 16 touchdowns on the season.

A big matchup in 2A District 6 this week will be when Community School of Naples takes on the Kings. Damon Jones' team is in fourth place, while Southwest Florida Christian is in sixth place.

The Celtics led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on the Sentinels.
