Basketball Recap: Tandem Friends Badgers vs. Regents Lions

The Tandem Friends Badgers were the 56-44 winner over the Regents Lions when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tandem Friends took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Tuesday. Tandem Friends has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Tandem Friends saw an underclassman step up: Sincere ?Sinn? Fordham scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Alden Scott, who scored ten points.

Regents got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Keppel out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Keppel is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Morales, who scored 18 points.

Tandem Friends' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Regents, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.

Tandem Friends won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on January 31st. Fredericksburg Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Regents, they will head out on the road to challenge the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. United Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Lions are ranked 161st).
