Preview: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Sheridan Blackhawks

Clinton Central is 2-7 against Sheridan since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clinton Central Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Sheridan Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Clinton Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 78-63 to Madison-Grant. Even though they lost, Clinton Central's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 52 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Clinton Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lane Davis, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Creed Mennen who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Davis scored a full 27% of Clinton Central's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Davison, who scored 10 points.

Even though they lost, Clinton Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison-Grant only pulled down four.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Sheridan at home against Faith Christian on Tuesday as the team secured a 86-53 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sheridan.

Trent Decrane had an outrageously good game as he scored 30 points along with 6 assists. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Tyler Garner was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with 8 rebounds.

The losses dropped Clinton Central to 0-3 and Madison-Grant to 1-2.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Clinton Central and Sheridan are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Clinton Central hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52 points per game. However, it's not like Sheridan struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 69.7 per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run up the score up higher Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
