Softball Recap: Bradford Railroaders vs. Jackson Center Tigers
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bradford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Jackson Center Tigers as the Bradford Railroaders made off with a 12-6 victory.
Casey Bolen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayven Evans, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Chloe Hocker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Bradford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1.
Coming up, Bradford will challenge Versailles at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday. Jackson Center will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Perry at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st.
