The Triton Hawks will take on the Harnett Central Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

While Triton's win against Western Harnett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks came out on top against the Eagles last Thursday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

The team relied heavily on Zach Roberson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brady Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, while Harnett Central put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Tarboro. The Trojans put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Sears made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run.

In other pitching news, Luke Wallace tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Back at the plate, Jonah Swinson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Wester, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Harnett Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Triton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Harnett Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Triton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Harnett Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Triton beat Harnett Central 12-7 in their previous meeting on April 10th. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
