Softball Recap: Caney Valley Takes a Loss

Caney Valley lost against Pawnee last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans fell just short of the Black Bears by a score of 5-4. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riley Brooks made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kaylynn Edwards was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Caney Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Pawnee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Caney Valley will face off against Kellyville at 11:15 a.m. on Friday. Pawnee will be paying especially close attention to the Trojans' contest: after the Trojans face off against Nowata, they'll take on Pawnee again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
