Football Game Preview: Holy Cross Indians vs. Trimble County Raiders

The Holy Cross Indians will face off against the Trimble County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Holy Cross took a 35-point loss the last time they faced off against Bishop Brossart, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs on Friday, sneaking past 6-3. The six-point effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Holy Cross' defense and their four sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Dustin Wilson, Trevin Figgs, and Andrew Russell, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, Trimble County was a bit more limited in their game two weeks ago. They lost to Ludlow at home by a 27-8 margin. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Trimble County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Everything came up roses for Holy Cross against Trimble County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 34-0 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
