Preview: Hueytown Golden Gophers vs. Brookwood Panthers
Hueytown is 7-1 against Brookwood since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hueytown Golden Gophers will be home for the holidays to greet the Brookwood Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Hueytown's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Brookwood has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Hueytown scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 79-72 win over Wenonah. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hueytown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Patton, who scored 27 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Patton has scored at least 25% of Hueytown's points. Tyler Agee was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Brookwood was beaten by Hueytown 60-22 on Friday. Brookwood has not had much luck with Hueytown recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Hueytown has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Brookwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
