Basketball Game Preview: 21st Century Charter Cougars vs. Bowman Academy Eagles

The 21st Century Charter Cougars will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Bowman Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

21st Century Charter is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Whitney Young by a score of 66-63 last Monday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Terrence Hayes Jr., who shot 46% from the field to rack up 20 points along with five blocks and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jerry Triplett III, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bowman Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 55-44 to Hammond Central.

Everything came up roses for 21st Century Charter against Bowman Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-37 victory. In that game, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 45-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
