Softball Recap: Discovery Canyon Thunder vs. La Junta Tigers
Discovery Canyon had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 5-9 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the La Junta Tigers 9-1. That's more bragging rights for the Thunder, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Bella Holcomb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Tylee Creps was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Chaumont was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

At the plate, La Junta saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marli Gonzales, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base.
