Softball Recap: Oskaloosa Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oskaloosa ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Onaga Buffaloes 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won four in a row.

Keirstyn Mitchell made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mitchell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Oskaloosa let Parris Marsh and Lydia Turner run wild. Marsh went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double, while Turner went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave Turner a new career-high.

Oskaloosa's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Onaga, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7.

As of now, neither Oskaloosa nor the Buffaloes have any future games scheduled.
