Basketball Recap: St. Paul's Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Jackson Wood and Wyatt Tate

St. Paul's Prep was the 56-43 winner over Community Christian when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Paul's Prep Lions fell to the Community Christian Warriors 45-39. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wyatt Tate and Jackson Wood certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Tate went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points and six steals, while Wood posted seven points in addition to four steals and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Wood a new career-high in steals.

St. Paul's Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Community Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

St. Paul's Prep will take on Cristo Rey Fort Worth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Community Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Christian Academy on Tuesday. Grace Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matches.
