Baseball Recap: South Fork Comes Up Short

South Fork was the 5-1 winner over Sebastian River when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The South Fork Bulldogs fell just short of the Sebastian River Sharks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

South Fork got a good showing from Jackson Turull, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Turull has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Vining was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

South Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Sebastian River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

South Fork and Sebastian River's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. South Fork will take on Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 2.67 runs per game. South Fork's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Sebastian River's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Sebastian River and Melbourne (who has only given up four runs per game) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
