Volleyball Recap: Eastern Guilford Takes a Loss

Eastern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Asheboro Blue Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-13.

Eva Vuncannon was a one-woman wrecking crew For Asheboro. as she had seven aces and three digs. What's more, Vuncannon racked up 16 assists, the most she's had over her last eight contests. Emma Ingold was another key player, getting seven digs and four aces.

Eastern Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Asheboro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eastern Guilford will square off against rival Northern Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Asheboro is set to challenge their familiar foe Northeast Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
