Volleyball Recap: Mountain Valley Takes a Loss

Mountain Valley extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 2-14. They lost 3-0 to the Creede Miners. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Miners this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss back in September.

Kandra Pollard paced Mountain Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Pollard got some help from Ivy Jean VanEgmond and her 12 assists. Pollard was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

As for Creede, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30th (when they won 3-0).

Creede found their leader in freshman Jadyn Eubank, who had 16 digs and one block. Eubank has been hot recently, having also posted 20 or more assists the last three times she's played.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Creede beat Mountain Valley by a score of 3-1 later that day.
