Basketball Game Preview: Pleasant Hill Eagles vs. Simpson Broncos

Pleasant Hill and Simpson are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Pleasant Hill Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Simpson Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Simpson likes a good challenge.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Pleasant Hill turned things around against Hornbeck on Friday. They strolled past the Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 57-41. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Hornets are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Simpson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 58-42 bruising from Ebarb.

Simpson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Pleasant Hill, they pushed their record up to 21-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Pleasant Hill skirted past Simpson 52-49 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Pleasant Hill repeat their success, or does Simpson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
