Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Napoleon Wildcats

The Springfield Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Napoleon Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Springfield's last matchup with Bowling Green could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Blue Devils lost 8-0 to the Bobcats. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, Napoleon came up short against Bryan on Wednesday, falling 7-1.

Napoleon dropped their record down to 2-19 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.

Springfield skirted past Napoleon 13-11 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
