Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Oakwood Christian turned things around against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since September 11th.

Oakwood Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-14, 15-12.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Unity Christian faced off against Woodland on Thursday. The Lions came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Oakwood Christian better focus on containing Josie Edwards and Brinzlee Painter as the pair were huge in Unity Christian's win. Edwards had eight digs and five aces, while Painter had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Painter has posted over her last six matchups.

Oakwood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Unity Christian, the win got them back to even at 15-15.

Oakwood Christian couldn't quite get it done against Unity Christian in their previous matchup back in August as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
