Baseball Recap: Danville Wins Going Away Against Loyalsock Township

Danville hadn't done well against Loyalsock Township recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Danville was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over Loyalsock Township. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ironmen also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Eli Welliver was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Casey Mills was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Danville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loyalsock Township only posted a batting average of .192.

Danville now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Danville will head out on the road to face off against Mifflinburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be Danville's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Loyalsock Township, they will host Midd-West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
