Basketball Recap: Mercedez Garza's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eisenhower over West Valley

If Eisenhower was riding high fresh off their 54-22 takedown of Wenatchee last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eisenhower Cadets fell to the West Valley Rams 44-39. The Cadets haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Cadets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mercedez Garza, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Garza now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Nekha Roehl, who earned 11 points and five boards.

Eisenhower's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for West Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Eisenhower has already played their next matchup, a 63-38 defeat against Eastmont on the 13th. As for West Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 100-25 loss against Davis on the 19th.
