Football Recap: Rolling Meadows Wins High-Profile Match Against St. Edward

Rolling Meadows faced St. Edward in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs managed a 12-6 win over the Green Wave. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly six points.

St. Edward's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Lynch, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one score. Lynch also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions.

The victory was the third in a row for Rolling Meadows, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games.
