Football Recap: Burke Takes a Loss

Burke lost against Westview back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs took a blow against the Wolverines, falling 42-7. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jasiah Summerfield threw for 175 yards and one TD. Christian Dean was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Carnell Dangerfield rushed for 49 yards.

Sage Giddings was nothing short of spectacular for Westview: he rushed for 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Giddings' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Westview also got help from Kingston Moore, who showed off his sure hands for 123 receiving yards.

Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Westview, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Burke will challenge Bryan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westview, they will square off against Papillion-LaVista South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 988 yards in their previous games.
