Softball Recap: Volcano Vista Comes Up Short

Volcano Vista lost against Los Lunas back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Volcano Vista Hawks fell just short of the Los Lunas Tigers by a score of 8-7. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 5-0 in the first period.

Kaylee Sanchez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Padilla, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Volcano Vista and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Los Lunas, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Volcano Vista will square off against Tournament Team at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
