Basketball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Riverdale Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Poudre Impalas by a score of 64-53 on Saturday.

Riverdale Ridge can attribute much of their success to Luke Wildhagen, who posted 11 points and five boards. Wildhagen is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Barzelatto, who scored nine points.

Poudre's loss came despite strong showings from Leaf Steinhauser and Brady Santillanes. Steinhauser dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Santillanes dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards.

Riverdale Ridge's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Poudre, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Riverdale Ridge will be taking part in a tournament against Severance at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Poudre, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
