The Ridge Community Bolts will head out to challenge the Four Corners Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ridge Community took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Lake Gibson by a score of 9-6.
Mathew Conde was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Conde was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Edwin Castaneda, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jonuel Ostolaza-Romos, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Ridge Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Gibson only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Four Corners put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Wekiva onto the board and left with a 25-0 win.
Like Ridge Community, Four Corners also got a great game from a two-way player: Angel Gonzalez. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gonzalez was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Gonzalez is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other pitching news, Jose Malave looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Jhonny Vasquez was a standout: he went a perfect3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Vasquez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Favor Maithe was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Ridge Community's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Four Corners, their record is now 3-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ridge Community has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Four Corners struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
