Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Foothill

Foothill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Johnson Warriors with a sharp 15-7 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-1 on Tuesday.

Aiden Caravalho was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Foothill is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-12 otherwise. Caravalho was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaden-McKenzie Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Blackwell, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Foothill's record is now 9-13. As for Johnson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Foothill will take on Sacramento at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.65 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Johnson, they will face off against Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
