Volleyball Game Preview: Mount Airy Granite Bears vs. East Surry Cardinals + How To Watch

Mount Airy hasn't had much luck against East Surry recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Granite Bears will challenge the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Mount Airy came up short against Surry Central and fell 3-1. While the Granite Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Eagles 25-18 in the first set.

Mount Airy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.

Meanwhile, East Surry got the win against Forbush on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

While East Surry won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-20.

East Surry is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Mount Airy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Mount Airy couldn't quite get it done against East Surry in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Granite Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
