Baseball Game Preview: Homestead Spartans vs. Adams Central Flying Jets

The Homestead Spartans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Adams Central Flying Jets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Homestead saw some tournament action on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Homestead saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sheldon Heffelmire, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Adams Central came up short against Fort Recovery on Thursday and fell 5-1.

Jami Roach put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Roach was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Homestead skirted past Adams Central 2-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Flying Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
