Basketball Game Preview: New Knoxville Rangers vs. Fort Loramie Redskins

New Knoxville is 1-9 against Fort Loramie since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Knoxville Rangers will look to defend their home court against the Fort Loramie Redskins at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

New Knoxville is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Spencerville, falling 53-31. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Bearcats are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, Fort Loramie lost to Marion Local on the road by a 43-28 margin on Saturday. The Redskins have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

New Knoxville will need focus on slowing down Maxwell Maurer, one of several Fort Loramie players who made an impact when they last played. He posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Heitkamp, who scored seven points.

Fort Loramie's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for New Knoxville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

New Knoxville came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Loramie in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 31-29. Does New Knoxville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Loramie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
