Patrick Henry is facing Christian at the wrong time: Christian suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pointers.
Christian got a good showing from Sienna Staite, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Staite has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Baca, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Tyler Krystek was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry won against Cathedral Catholic on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Patriots never let Academy of Our Lady of Peace get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Not much got past Zoe Rutherford, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Academy of Our Lady of Peace off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izzy Ervin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Earner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Christian's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 18-5-1. As for Patrick Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Patrick Henry's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Patrick Henry, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Christian's hitters?
Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Patrick Henry in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 2-0. Does Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Patrick Henry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
