Volleyball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

Belmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woburn Memorial Tanners. The Marauders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tanners earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Belmont ultimately came up short, they really made Woburn Memorial work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 28-26, 25-22, 16-25, 15-9.

When it comes to explaining why Belmont lost, don't look at Zulal Merdinian. Despite the final result, she had 31 digs and four aces. Emma Miao also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Belmont now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Woburn Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Belmont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Wilmington on the 9th. As for Woburn Memorial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Burlington on the 9th.
