Angola has gone 10-0 against Lakeland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Angola Hornets just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Lakeland Lakers at 7:30 p.m. Angola will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Angola didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Concord, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win.

Meanwhile, Lakeland was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 52-51 to Westview.

Angola will need focus on slowing down Cara Schackow, one of several Lakeland players who made an impact when they last played. She almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Schackow is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Dulce Canedo, who went 6 of 14 en route to 19 points.

Even though they lost, Lakeland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Lakeland's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Angola, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Angola against Lakeland in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 61-27 win. Does Angola have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakeland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
