Soccer Game Preview: Anna vs. Jacksonville

The Anna Coyotes will challenge the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Anna's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Denison. Isabelle Lopez was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville hasn't lost a match since January 11th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Cedar Hill. Given the Fightin' Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Longhorns are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jacksonville is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-1-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 17 contests. Anna's win bumped their record up to 10-8-1.
