League recap: Mead rises, Ferris falls in league standings

3A/4A Greater Spokane league recap: 3/27/13

Mead made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from seventh to second place in 3A/4A Greater Spokane thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Ferris fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 0-1 in the past week. University (1-0, 1-0) is now in first place.

The Panthers outpaced the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Mead beat Lewis & Clark 11-1 and the Tigers 5-2.

The Panthers boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Jordan Mcgowan struck out eight in Mead's 11-1 win over Lewis & Clark on March 21. Over his five innings pitched he allowed one run on zero hits.
