Baseball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. Marin Academy Wildcats

For the second straight game, Lick-Wilmerding will face off against Marin Academy. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lick-Wilmerding is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Marin Academy with a sharp 23-4 victory on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Tyler Yee made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lick-Wilmerding is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-6 otherwise. Yee was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Lick-Wilmerding got a massive performance out of Braden Pollock, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Pollock a new career-high. Kian Perrone was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Lick-Wilmerding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lick-Wilmerding's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Marin Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
