Softball Recap: Mill Creek Triumphs

While Mill Creek's victory against East Forsyth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Broncos 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since October 10, 2024.

Bethany Sottnick tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Blair McClain was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kellie Maijala was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Mill Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive matchups.

Mill Creek's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for East Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mill Creek will host Central Gwinnett at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Forsyth, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Walnut Grove at 6:30 p.m.
