Basketball Game Preview: Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs vs. St. Anne's-Belfield Saints

The Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs will take on the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Georgetown Visitation Prep narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Coolidge 57-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.

Georgetown Visitation Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyssa Fitzgerald out in front who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Fitzgerald has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Becca Safavian was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Georgetown Visitation Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Anne's-Belfield). They walked away with a 63-52 victory over Osbourn Park on Friday.

Georgetown Visitation Prep's record now sits at 2-0. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, their record is now 4-1.
