Recap: Davie War Eagles vs. West Forsyth Titans

The Davie War Eagles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against West Forsyth by a score of 78-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Davie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryson Mickey, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mickey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Powers, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why West Forsyth lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacari Brim. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That's the first time this season that Brim pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Jordan, who scored 17 points.

Davie's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for West Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davie will take on East Forsyth at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in East Forsyth's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. West Forsyth on the road again on Friday and play against Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Parkland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while West Forsyth is ranked 59th).
