Volleyball Recap: Auburndale Apaches vs. Mosinee Indians
After a string of six wins, Auburndale's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Mosinee Indians by a score of 2-1. The Apaches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Auburndale actually scored more points across those three sets (56-55), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-18, 15-13.
Mosinee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taelyn Jirschele, who had six digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Shnowske, who had 12 digs.
Auburndale's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Mosinee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.
Auburndale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Athens on the 5th. Mosinee has also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Edgar on the 5th.
