Volleyball Recap: Jackson Day Comes Up Short

Jackson Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons. The Mariners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.

Emma Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for NCSSM: Morganton: she had seven aces and three digs. Another player making a difference was Bree Spicer, who had nine digs.

Jackson Day's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Jackson Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they will square off against Mountain Island Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raptors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
