Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Faith Baptist

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue Ridge). They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Faith Baptist on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Jays as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Lochlan 'Bear' Paul, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Blue Ridge is undefeated when Paul posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Dominic Paul was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Blue Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Blue Ridge's win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will welcome Regents at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12.3 runs per game this season. As for Faith Baptist, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Fredericksburg V at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
