Baseball Recap: Palmer Drops Highest Score of Season Against Granby

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Palmer and Granby meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Panthers walked away with a 13-10 win over the Rams. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Matt Santos was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Palmer: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Guillermo Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Palmer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Granby, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Palmer will host Ludlow at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granby, they will take on Chicopee at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
