It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Red Bud can now relate to. They fell just short of the Althoff Catholic Crusaders by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Musketeers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Red Bud might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Althoff Catholic: every set was decided by two points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 22-25, 27-25.

When it comes to explaining why Red Bud lost, don't look at Maria Murry. Despite the final result, she had 37 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Devyn Liefer, who had 15 digs.

Althoff Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katelyn Karban, who had 30 digs and one assist. Those 30 digs gave Karban a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Fairbairn, who had 14 digs.

Red Bud's loss dropped their record down to 32-5. As for Althoff Catholic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-12.

Red Bud does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Althoff Catholic, they will challenge Nashville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
