Basketball Recap: Colonial Piles Up the Points Against Windermere

Colonial was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Windermere on Tuesday. The Colonial Grenadiers really took it to the Windermere Wolverines for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-2 victory. That looming 67-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Grenadiers yet this season.

Colonial found their leader in sophomore Yaneyla Pedraza, who went 11 for 14 en route to 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Pedraza has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aracelis Cruz, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points.

Colonial was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win snapped Colonial's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-11 record. As for Windermere, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Colonial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-39 victory against Edgewater on the 22nd. As for Windermere, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-33 loss against Cypress Creek on the 23rd.
